MSI launches Fusion-based notebook, all-in-one desktop

MSI has grown accustomed to announcing new systems without providing a ship date, leaving customers to wait weeks or even months before products are truly available. Such was the case with the company's AMD Fusion-based Wind Top AE2050 all-in-one desktop and CR650 notebook. Both were unveiled earlier this year and are finally available via US etailers such as Amazon and Newegg.

Starting at $679.99, the AE2050 packs AMD's dual-core 1.6GHz E-350 APU, a 20-inch 1600x900 multitouch display, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 640GB hard drive, a DVD burner, a 0.3MP webcam, a 6-in-1 card reader, as well as USB 3.0, HDMI, gigabit Ethernet and 802.11b/g/n connectivity. Units ship with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, a keyboard/mouse combo, and a one-year warranty.

Likewise, the CR650 is powered by AMD's E-350, which should offer plenty of performance for standard usage and remain light on power consumption with an 18W TDP. The sub-model on Newegg (CR650-016US) is set at $469.99 and carries a 15.6-inch 1366x768 display, 3GB of RAM, 320GB of storage, a DVD writer, a 720p webcam, a chiclet keyboard and the typical round of connectors.

Meanwhile, MSI has officially greeted its Sandy Bridge-based GX680 laptop with a press release, though there's no mention of pricing or availability. The gaming notebook will come with a 15.6-inch 1366x768 or 1920x1080 display, an Intel Core i7-2630QM processor, a 1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 555M, up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM, as much as 1.5TB of storage via two 750GB HDDs, and a Blu-ray drive.
