The iPad is a content-driven machine. That's what it does best, and that's what it's used for. The Cisco Cius, on the other hand, wants to be the consummate professional's tablet. But what's a business-minded tablet do differently?
Cisco seems to be hanging its hat on HD videoconferencing, in particular, with a front-facing camera that allows 30fps of 720p video in addition to a rear-facing 5MP camera. The Cius is also a briefcase-friendly 1.15lbs, and runs Android (though it's not clear what iteration).
Also unclear are pricing (though it should be under $1000) and general availability (sometime in the first three months of 2011). But there's clearly room for tablets in the enterprise space, especially since videoconferencing has always seemed best-suited to business meetings anyway.
