The first rumors of a possible Asus Eee keyboard surfaced more than 16 months ago during CES 2009, but since then it has been just more rumors, till recently when Liliputing reports that finally Asus is going to release the Eee keyboard next week. It will be available to order in the US by the end of this month.
The Asus Eee keyboard is like a desktop keyboard, only in space of the Numpad, there is a display panel that works as a monitor. The gadget is powered by an Atom processor and has an SSD drive. With the HDMI out you can connect it to a TV to operate on a bigger monitor.
Asus released a video a few days ago that demonstrates what the white keyboard can do. The display panel is touchscreen enabled with multi-touch supports. It has built-in speakers for music and ultra-wideband technology that should facilitate wireless connections to your home entertainment systems. While connected to a PC, you can choose the display to show various widgets like weather information or game scores etc. It can also act as a touchpad to your desktop which is a cool feature I believe.
