Mozilla Firefox 3.5.4 Promises Great Speed and High Level of Security

Mozilla Firefox 3.5.4 is ready for download free and we just did upgrade our version after having tons of problems with Firefox 3.5.2. The truth is, after our bad experiences with version 3.5.2, I have stopped using Mozilla Firefox and deleted it from my computer and turned to Flock – a more lightweight version of FF because it uses the same basic engine as the latter, and Safari 4 (which turned out to be very slow and buggy later on). In fact we even did not blog about the release of Firefox 3.5.3 after being disgusted with the frequent crashing and horrendous amount of bugs found in Firefox 3.5.2. Yes, that version had too many bugs and an immediate update was in order at that time. We thought at first that many issues in the Firefox 3.5 engine were addressed in the 3.5.3 version but still, many users ended up dissatisfied with the performance of Firefox in handling javascripts. Errors in loading web pages and sudden closing of tabs have become common among users.

According to Mozilla,

Firefox 3.5 includes the TraceMonkey JavaScript engine, which gives the browser dramatically better performance than ever before. Firefox has always been fast, but this is the fastest Firefox ever (more than twice as fast as Firefox 3, and ten times as fast as Firefox 2), meaning Web applications like email, photo sites, online word processors and more will feel snappier and more responsive.

In Firefox 3.5.4, you will find the following new and improved features, which in our view are noteworthy:

  • Faster JavaScript
  • Awesome Bar
  • Tags
  • Library
  • One-Click Bookmarking
  • Smart Bookmark
  • Platform-Native Look & Feel
  • RSS Feed Reader
  • Download Manager
  • Improved Session Restore
  • Full Zoom
  • Easy Organization
  • Reopen Closed Tabs
  • Save on Exit
  • Smooth Scrolling
  • Improved Text Rendering
  • Downloadable Fonts
  • Language of Firefox (install your own language pack)
  • Location-Aware Browsing
  • Open Video and Audio

The file size of Firefox 3.5.4 is only 7.7MB and will only take 10 minutes or less on a broadband internet connection. DSL internet connection download speed will be 5 minutes or less.
