Potential Launch of Next-Generation Toyota Innova in the Philippines This Month, Featuring Gasoline and Hybrid Options
Excitement has been building around the upcoming release of the all-new Toyota Innova, and eager buyers in our region have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of the next-generation model.
It was previously reported that the MPV was expected to make its way to our shores in July. However, new information suggested that the launch date may have been moved up significantly. According to a reliable source, the new Innova could be unveiled by the end of June.
That's not all. It is also possible that the PH market will have the option to choose between gasoline and hybrid powertrains with the next-generation model. Furthermore, Toyota Motors Philippines (TMP) is likely to market the top-of-the-line Innova as the Zenix, following a similar strategy used with the Veloz variant of the Avanza.
As for the previous diesel engine model, it remains uncertain what Toyota intends to do with it. However, it wouldn't be surprising if TMP continues to offer that version, just as they have continued selling the previous-generation Hiace in our market.
Now, you might be wondering about the Wigo. While it was initially suggested that it might be unveiled alongside the Innova, it is now less certain. Sources indicate that the hatchback is still expected to arrive sometime in July, implying that TMP plans to hold separate launches for the Innova/Zenix and the Wigo.
As of now, TMP has not made any official announcements, so it is advisable to approach this information with caution. It may be necessary to wait a little longer for the carmaker to confirm the details.
