The upcoming version of Android's Music app has been accidentally leaked to Tech From 10. Android Life is also hosting some leaked files. Remember that these downloads are not meant for public use, so try them out at your own risk.
The new music player (version 3.0.336) is similar to the one included in Android 3.0 (codenamed Honeycomb), only it works on your smaller smartphone. The main difference is that the settings menu has received new streaming-related options. In addition to making room for the company's upcoming Google Music cloud service, there's now also a ratings system. The streaming part of the app is not yet functional, so we still don't know how well it will work.
The app was leaked after Google accidentally pushed what appears to be a developer version of the next Android Market to some phones. The search giant has since removed the test Android Market from many devices and affected users are back to running the standard Android Market. Before that happened, however, other apps were also leaked, including a new camera and clock.
Google still hasn't given a date for when its music service will become available. Amazon beat it to the punch late last month when it unveiled Cloud Drive.
